Colonial Swim League Divisionals

Divisionals
Sat, 7-30-2016
Despite the challenge of multiple weather delays, the league was able to complete all four meets today.  “Made-it” lists have been sent to the team reps, results have been uploaded to the website, and we can start paying attention to things like….

…New league records!

Six of them were set today, all at the White Division meet, all by swimmers Jennifer Luong and Lexi Cuomo.  Jennifer, the 12-year old South Riding standout, broke three of her own records, going 30.80 in Back to drop 0.81 seconds of her old mark, 30.03 in Fly to lower that record by 0.22 seconds, and 1:08.50 in IM, which is 0.39 seconds under her prior mark.

15-year old Lexi of ManorGate was just as impressive, swimming 26.34 in Free to erase Michelle Griglione’s 28-year mark of 26.77, ripping a 29.48 in Back, well under the previous mark of 30.14, and breaking her own Flyrecord of 28.43 with a swim of 28.28.

And all of this while battling the tedium and  uncertainty of lightning delays all morning.  Outstanding!

Congratulations, Jennifer and Lexi!
