RMSC Holiday Invitational: Quick Wrap Up
By Reach for the Wall staff.
The Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC) held its annual Holiday Invitational meet at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center this past weekend. A total of 15 teams participated in the event, but the meet was not team-scored.
Caitlin Horning, a 10 year old scorcher from Delaware, set new PVS Open records in:
- 10 & under 100 backstroke (1:00.99), beating the previous record of Kate Riefenstahl from 2001; and
- 10 & under 100 butterfly (1:01.19) by beating Janet Hu’s best time in 2006.
Readers may recall that Horning also set 3 National Age Group (NAG) meet records at the 2016 PV National Age Group Team Challenge that RMSC hosted a month and a half ago.
All PVS swimmer (and some outside PVS) results can be found in Meet Results on our site.

Gotta Love The Whistler from Delaware!
On second thought…..
The article said that the meet was not team-scored. However, the team relays were scored (1st place -48 points; 2nd place 42 points; 3rd place 40 points…). Thus, the team relays score system is probably unnecessary if the meet was not team-scored. Also based on the meet advertisement there were no high-point competition or high-point winners in each age group at the meet.
