2016 – 17 National Meet Standards

By Reach for the Wall staff.

As readers may recall, Reach for the Wall created a Meet Pyramid earlier this year (see graphic) to show the hierarchy of “national meets” that USA Swimming sanctions.Swimming Pyramid (15 April 2016)

To qualify for any of these meets, swimmers first must post a qualifying time for that meet during the qualifying period.  Each year, USA Swimming establishes the time standards (or “cuts”) needed to qualify for each of these meets.

For your convenience, we have compiled a comprehensive list of qualifying times for Sectionals, Futures, Junior Nationals, the U.S. Open and National Championships.  Note that since the Rio Olympics just occurred and the next Games (in Tokyo) aren’t until 2020, this list does not include qualifying times for U.S. Olympic Trials.

Disclaimer:  We entered these times manually, so please let us know if you see a time that is wrong and needs to be fixed!
