Below is key information regarding each of the following Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) State Swimming and Diving Championships that take place February 23 – 24 at the Eppley Recreation Center on the campus of the University of Maryland – College Park.

Here’s how the teams fared at Regions…should be a tight competition for the team title Saturday!:

  • Where:  Eppley Recreation Center – University of Maryland (4128 Valley Dr, College Park, MD 20742)
  • When:  Friday, February 23
    • Doors open at 4 p.m.
    • Competition begins at 5 p.m.
  • WiFi:  To get strong WiFi at Eppley, sign-up at https://fs30.formsite.com/djang/WIFI-Request/index.html.
  • Parking:  Terrapin Trail Parking Garage
    • Follow Terrapin Trail to the Terrapin Trail Parking Garage behind the Recreation Center. This garage is free after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturday, unless a special event is occuring.
    • Meters by the Eppley Recreation Center are in effect Monday through Sunday from 7 AM – 12 Midnight.
    • You risk being ticketed if you park in the parking next to the Eppley Recreation Center, so to be safe, park at the Terrapin Trail Garage or in a metered park space

Class 4A/3A State Swimming Championships
  • Where:  Eppley Recreation Center – University of Maryland (4128 Valley Dr, College Park, MD 20742)
  • When:  Saturday, February 24
    • Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
    • Competition begins at 9:30 a.m.

  • Parking (full information and map:
    • Due to a Mens’ Basketball game on Saturday, the following parking instructions are different from previous years.
      Spectators can pay to park in the Stadium Drive Garage or at metered spaces for Swimming on Saturday OR park for free in Lot 1 over by the Cole Activities Center. Uniformed campus police will be present in lots to monitor traffic flow.
      TEAM BUSES:
      Drop-Off — Small team buses and team vans will come down to Lot 2G to drop off the athletes at the bottom of the hill.
      These vehicles shall exit out of this lot without parking or idling.
      Full size school buses shall take Valley Drive to the front of Eppley at the main entrance and have athletes walk outside and down the steps to the athlete entrance at the left rear corner of the building.
      Parking — ALL buses MUST park in Lot 1D (located next to the Ludwig Soccer  Field/Kehoe Track).
      Pick-Up — Buses may idle while waiting for athletes in Lot 2A (top of hill near Center for Young Children). Athletes will walk to buses from athlete entrance.
      SPECTATORS: May park in the Stadium Drive Garage at a cost of $5 per vehicle (Park in numbered space and input space number into kiosk when paying.), metered spaces, or park for FREE in Lot 1.

    • Doors open at 3 p.m.
    • Competition begins at 4 p.m.
