High School Championship Season in Full Swing
February 4, 2026
This past weekend, the DMV was encapsulated with ‘snowcrete’, however that did not deter the heated competition in the pools. Every high school league held a championship style meet- Montgomery County Public Schools held their Divisional meets, Northern Virginia Public Schools held Districts, and the private schools in the area had the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim and Dive League (WMPSSDL) Championship meet. For many teams this past weekend was their first taste of a championship meet, whereas many of the private schools have competed in their league championship or Invitational meets since January 10th.
