We were stunned as much as the rest of the community when the announcement of the decision to end coverage of high school sports in our area’s largest news publication. In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the statement from the High School Sports Editor:

For the past 10 years we have carried forward what started in the Washington Post Sports newsroom…a niche publication where the DMV swimmers, divers and swimming related events could be recognized and celebrated. With the assistance of local businesses who have stepped up to sponsor this project, specifically Rip Current Sports, we look forward to publishing the 2025-2026 All-Met Swimming and Diving teams in an upcoming post.
