Georgetown Prep Swim Meet vs. Landon and DeMatha to stream LIVE at DMVSTREAM.COM
Press Release by DMVSTREAM.COM.
Jan. 10, 2017 – Georgetown Prep’s home swim meet, a double dual-meet vs. Landon and DeMatha on Jan. 14, 2017, will be broadcast live at DMVSTREAM.COM and the DMVSTREAM.COM Facebook Page.
The broadcast will include multiple HD camera angles, instant replay, graphics, live scoring, live clock and insight and analysis from a play by play voice, color analyst and sideline reporter. The broadcast will begin at 4:30 p.m.
The Broadcast Crew: Play by Play voice Matt Fetters will be joined in the booth by color analyst Josh Klotz (pictured left). Fetters is a long time D.C. metro area sports broadcaster. He’s also a former college swimmer (Michigan State University) where he held school records in the 1,000 and 1,650 freestyle events and was also a team co-captain his senior year.
Josh Klotz was the Gonzaga College High School swim coach from 2011-2015 and was named last season’s Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year. He left his post as head coach following last season after leading Gonzaga to their fifth straight WMPSSDL title. He also led Gonzaga to three titles at Metros and also the National Catholic Championship in 2012. He’s coached over 30 All-Americans. He coached four swimmers to the 2016 US Olympic trials. He is a former college swimmer and was a high school All-American at Walt Whitman.
“Swimming in the DMV has long been under-appreciated by the mainstream local media, which is a down-right travesty when you look at the Olympics and see that much of team USA and so many medal-winners have grown up right here in our own backyard,” said DMVSTREAM.COM founder B.J. Koubaroulis. “Over the years, we’ve heard the call for more coverage of swimming and we’re stepping up and putting our name on this. We hope that this meet is the first step to providing a stage for these talented young athletes to be seen on a global stage.”
The live broadcast will be available free of charge and world-wide. The swim meet is part of a broader schedule of broadcasts provided by DMVSTREAM.COM this winter, including basketball, wrestling, hockey and more. The schedule includes approximately 30 events, including playoffs and regional championships. The broadcast series will also include the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim and Dive League (WMPSSDL) championships on Feb. 4, 2017 and could include more swim meets this winter and beyond.
Parents will also have the option to purchase a downloadable copy of the broadcast as well as order a custom swimmer package — an edited version of the broadcast that includes only your swimmer’s heats. Visit our store for more information.
