PVS Women Key to Teams’ Chances at NCAAs
By Reach for the Wall staff.
Several days ago, SwimSwam posted its first official 2016-2017 Men’s NCAA Power Rankings before the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship (March 22-25), and we ran a story highlighting some PVS male swimmers who will figure prominently in the fortunes of some of those ranked teams at NCAAs.
SwimSwam now has posted its first official 2016-2017 Women’s NCAA Power Rankings, and below are the PVS swimmers mentioned in this article.
- #19: NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS
- Hellen Moffitt (Alexandria, Va / West Potomac High)
- #1: STANFORD CARDINAL
- Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md / Stone Ridge).
The SwimSwam article also mentions Meghan Small (Lineboro, Md / York YMCA / Manchester Valley High School) who grew up just outside the PVS area and who swims for the #17 Tennessee Volunteers.
Coincidentally, Swimming World just published a fun interview of Hellen Moffitt.
And, Swimming World just checked in with Ledecky about her new life at Stanford post-Rio.
Good luck, ladies, at the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship (March 15-18) at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
