2017 MSPPAA Regional Diving Championships

The 2017 Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) Regional Diving Championships concluded tonight at the Kennedy Shriver Aquatics Center. Divers from Regions 4A-3A North and 3A-2A-1A West competed yesterday (Feb. 16), and those from Region 4A-3A West battled today (Feb. 17). The top 4 male and female divers in each region advanced to the 2017 MPSSAA State Diving Championship Meet next Friday (Feb. 24) at 5 p.m. at the Eppley Recreation Center at the University of Maryland College Park.
Below are the top 4 finishers from each Region:
4A-3A West Region
Boys
- Joey Canova (Quince Orchard) – 548.65 points
- Canova was the top male diver at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Diving Championships (Metros) last week
- Mory Gould (Churchill) – 528.75 points
- Patrick Collishaw (Walter Johnson) – 496.60 points
- Parker Johnson (Churchill) – 471.95 points
Girls
- Maddy Pfaff (BCC) – 471.10 points
- Cassie Graham (Clarksburg) – 446.10 points
- Regan Westwood (Wootton) – 445.65 points
- Kamryn Umbel (Richard Montgomery) – 442.85 points
