VHSL Regions and Metros: Where things stand after prelims

We have monitored the results as they’ve come in via meet mobile & online for a few Region meets (Occoquan, Region 5C, Region 6B) and Metros. The team races are pretty tight in each of the meets and teams have room to move up in the standings.
VHSL: We could only gather a full set of prelim results for Occoquan
Occoquan Region: The Robinson Girls swam well enough in the prelims to post an healthy advantage going into finals. The Boys race is a lot closer, with Woodson, Robinson, West Springfield and Lake Braddock all in the mix.

Scoring: Scoring is through 16 places based on the prelim times/seeds for finals.

Metros:
At Metros, the top 20 return for the finals session, 11-20 in the Consolation and 1-10 in ‘A’ Final. 3 of the 4 teams that vied for the Girls title last year are in the hunt again for the team title this year. Stone Ridge is looking to top their rival and last year’s champion Holton-Arms, but will need a big team effort to maintain their advantage from prelims. The Boys have three teams in the mix for the title, with Gonzaga leading the way, closely followed by Georgetown Prep, and Whitman. Churchill currently sitting in 4th has a lot of points/places to move up to challenge for the title. As noted below, relay events could play a big factor in how team finish in the overall standings as there is a 10-point difference between 1st and 4th.
