Duncan’s 200 Back Makes Waves

SwimSwam recognized PVS swimmer, Sophie Duncan (12 years old –Sea Devil Swimming), in its most recent Weekly Wonders of Age Group Swimming column.

At the PVS January Open Meet last week, Duncan swam a 2:07.04 in the Girls 11-12 200 Yard Backstroke, dropping more than 3 seconds off her seed time to win the event.  As the magazine notes, Duncan has dropped more than 8 seconds off her time in 200 back since she swam it at the same meet last year, and now is the #6 ranked 12 year-old girl in the country in 200 back for the 2016-17 short course season.
