The high school teams in WMPSSDL and MCPS leagues are still tuning-up with dual and makeup meets during this week and next, with VHSL Conference meets this Saturday. We’ll try to keep this post updated with results as they are available

6A North (Liberty Conference) (Prelim Results)

Highlights/what to watch for tonight (Finals Results):

  • Jayaprakash Kambhampaty (WL) new meet record 100 fly 50.65 and 100 Back 50.47.
  • Dorje Wu, top seed in the 200 IM & 100 Breast, could see records fall tonight
  • WL Freshman Jack Mowery top 8 finalist 200, 500 free
  • Devin & Darius Truong both in final heat for 100 fly.
  • Anna Keating (JMHS) narrowly missed 100 breaststroke meet record by.10, 1:04.44
  • Casey Storch (LHS) top seed in both 100 & 200 free, both events could see new records.
  • Sinead Eksteen (MHS) & Isabella Rongione (LHS) will battle for the title in the 500 free

Recap:

Sinead Eksteen had two exceptional swims, her 200 free time 1:46.99 and 500 free time 4:44.89 were both Automatic All American and Meet Records! Isabella Rongione also attained an Automatic All American time standard taking second place in the 500 with a 4:51.05

The other Automatic All American time standard was turned in by the Freshman phenom, Anna Keating (JMHS) who won both the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke. Her 200 IM time of 2:03.51 was a meet record and All American Consideration, while her 1:02.16 was an Automatic All American and meet record.

Jayaprakash Kambhampaty (WL) won both events and set a new meet record in the backstroke with a 50.47

Casey Storch (LHS) won both his events and set meet records, his 200 free was 1:40.84 and 100 free 46.61.

Given these are Conference Championships and there are Regions and States to follow in the coming weeks, we anticipate some faster performances!
