PVS swimmers hit the road for National Meets
By Reach for the Wall Staff
This week, PVS swimmers head out across the country to compete in meets against zone and national competition. Last October we put together all the qualifying times for the various levels of meets, from Zones to Olympic Trials. As a refresher, we’ve included the Competition Pyramid depicting the levels of meets and general purpose. At the base level,USA Swimming has the ‘Sectionals’ meet. This year, the bulk of PVS swimmers who have met the standard for Sectional meet are competing in either Senior or Age Group Zones. The Zone meet qualifying standards are slightly slower than the Sectional meets, but with the timing of this year’s Super Sectional (July 18-21) the same weekend as the PVS Championship meets, none of the PVS teams attended. Further, some PVS teams have opted for swimming the NCSA Junior National meet which has qualifying times slightly slower than the Futures meet, allowing more swimmers to qualify/compete.
We’ll do our best to track the accomplishments of PVS swimmers the next two weeks and welcome any submissions/pictures via email: operations@reachforthewall.org to let us know how you are doing! Also, check the links below for meet information, psych sheets and results websites. Best of luck to all the swimmers that qualified for these meets, we hope you achieve your goals!
