ISL College Park: The Interviews

At the conclusion of the ISL meet in College Park Nov 16-17, several athletes granted interviews to the media pool- we were there to capture it all as it went down.

Cody Miller:

Cody Spoke about his impression of the ISL meets and how he stepped in on Sunday for the team to swim the 50 butterfly.

We happened to catch footage of that race… Cody can Fly!!

Caeleb Dressel:

Even the fastest swimmer can reflect on how he competed, what he did well and what he can improve upon. In this interview Caeleb is contemplative about what he can do better, in particular with competing in short course meters. On Day 1 Caeleb swam the 100 Butterfly:49.16 (.53 off of the American Record), 50 Freestyle: 20.81 (.38 off the American Record), 100 Butterfly in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay: 49.54, Leadoff on the 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay: 46.21

Day 2 Caeleb swam the 100 Freestyle: 45.69 (.07 off the American Record), 50 Butterfly: 22.21 (New American Record), leadoff of the mixed 4 x 100 Free Relay: 45.71, and the Skins Race, 3 x 50 Freestyle: 21.34, 21.39, 21.25. What will he do when he figures out racing short course meters???

Beryl Gastaldello:

Beryl, a French Olympian, had a fantastic weekend of swimming. In the two days of competition she won each of her individual events, including the grueling Skins race. Day 1 Beryl swam the 50 Freestyle:23.81, 50 Backstroke 26.18, and anchor in the 4 x 100 Free Relay: 51.87. On Day 2 she tied for 1st in the 100 Free 51.81, then went on to win the 50 Butterfly 24.81, and the Skins race: 23.98, 24.54, 24.46. In her interview she touches on her sprinting, training and joy in racing.
