This past weekend (2/21-2/22) both the MPSSAA and VHSL held their State Championship meets and the competition was fierce. As predicted, we saw a lot of movement in the top times lists (excel download):

In the MPSSAA 4A/3A meet, the boys from Whitman captured their first championship, outdistancing their crosstown rival Churchill.

In the girls meet, B-CC capped off their perfect MCPS season with Walter Johnson capturing second.

In the VHSL Class 6 meet, the James Madison girls captured their 4th consecutive championship, while Woodson won the boys title, their first since 1993.

In the Class 5 meet, First Colonial (Va. Beach) just outscored Briar Woods by 25 points to take the girls title, while Thomas Jefferson battled to a 3rd place finish just behind Freeman & Godwin (both from Richmond).
