The Rockville Montgomery Swim Club hosted the 43rd annual Maryland State Long Course swimming championship at the Rockville Swim & Fitness Center from Friday June 3rd through Sunday June 5th. This meet has always been positioned at or near the start of the Long Course season and is one of the first ‘outdoor’ meets of the year. Thankfully the weather was pristine and provided a great backdrop for swimmers to test their training plans across the three days of competition.

While there wasn’t a full slate of relays competed for each age group, the meet held the mixed medley and mixed freestyle for the 10 & under and 11-12 age groups. On Sunday, two of the 10 & under teams from RMSC dipped below the National Record for the Mixed 200 Freestyle Relay. The prior record was held by Irvine Novaquatics of 2:11.71 set in 2021:

The RMSC ‘A’ team set the new standard at 2:08.52, with the ‘B’ team going 2:11.54, both under the prior record. Way to go!!

RMSC ‘A’: 2:08.52
Juli Diaz 33.09
Grayson Tempelhoff 32.42
Jenna Ryan 30.92
Zander Pica 32.09

RMSC ‘B’: 2:11.54
Elena Lindley 32.96
Logan Donley 31.82
Alina Kuzmenko 33.53
Tripp Thomas 33.23

Congrats to RMSC! They look like they will successfully defend their division A title this summer.

Excited to see what kind of recruiting class Coach Greene signs this summer
