Whitman Boys, Walter Johnson Girls take titles at MPSSAA 4A/3A Championships a lookback in pictures!

Photographer Marcus Chen was on deck at Eppley Recreation Center to capture all the highs and high fives of the 4A/3A Championship meet. Here’s a synopsis of the events as captured by Marcus. the meet was not without some dramatic events as the swimmers and divers competed for the team title, starting with the diving events being delayed with a scoring malfunction and continuing into the swimming with the Whitman Boys benefitting from a DQ by Churchill for illegal exchange in the 200 Freestyle Relay. From the start to the finish, 8 meet records were set!

The diving competition was held Friday and despite the delay incurred during the girls session, Lilia Atanda (Sherwood) defended her title for the 3rd year in a row, posting a the top score of 429.70. In the Boys competition, Aiden Wang (Wootton) bested Charlie Berman by 27 points to make it a clean sweep on the Championship season as Aiden won the Division, Region, Metro and State titles this year!!
