ATTENTION:

Parents of 11-12 and 13-14 Summer League Swimmers,

My name is Merete Oakes. I graduated from Daleview (MCSL) two years ago where I swam for 11 years and coached for my senior season.

I now coach for NCAP and swim for the American University Club Team. I’m a public health student at American University where I’m in the Health Honors Program, researching how swimming affects mental health.

I’m reaching out because I’m conducting a research survey with parents of children ages 11-14, exploring the impact of summer swim team participation on adolescent mental health and well-being. It should only take 10 minutes of your time, and is completely voluntary and anonymous (no personal information is collected). If you choose to complete the survey, please do so by Monday, July 31.
