NCSA – Let’s celebrate…

ORLANDO – It’s the One Week anniversary of the return of Reach For The Wall, and to CELEBRATE we would like to highlight the Potomac Valley (PVS) swimmers who made it to finals on day two of the NCSA meet being held in Orlando, Fl.
PVS has nearly 400 athletes at this meet entered in over 1100 events. Even more impressive is the number of swimmers representing PVS in finals last evening. 62 PVS swimmers out of 320 entries qualified for Day 2 Finals. That means that almost 20% of the swimmers in the pool last night were from PVS! Overall, PVS swimmers turned in 5 Olympic Trials Qualifying times yesterday.
The preliminary session of this meet is swum in short course yards, and the finals session in long course meters. This gives the swimmers an opportunity to showcase their talents in both arenas. In finals, swimmers can place no higher than the heat in which they are swimming. In other words, a swimmer in heat two can place no higher than 9th regardless of time obtained in the swim.
We also want to celebrate the swimmers who did not make finals last evening. It sounds like everyone is doing really well and even more importantly showing remarkable sportsmanship.
