2017 Eastern Zone Long Course Championships (“Zones”)
By Reach for the Wall staff.
This Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (August 9 – 12), USA Swimming will co-sponsor the 2017 Eastern Zone Short Course Championships (Zones) at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Richmond, Virginia.
As explained here, this is the championship meet for age group swimmers in the Eastern Zone of the United States (i.e., the yellow region in the map ). At Zones, each Local Swimming Committee (LSC) in the Eastern Zone (e.g., PVS) compiles a team of its fastest available swimmers following its end-of-season championship meet (e.g., the 2017 Short Course 14 & Under Junior Olympic Championships (“JOs”)) to compete against other LSC teams in the same zone. The swimmers on these Zone teams compete under the name of their LSC (not their clubs).
