National Catholic Swim and Dive Champs underway!

The 84th annual National Catholic Swimming & Diving Championship is being competed this weekend 1/18-1/19 at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. Many schools from the DMV will compete in this prestigious event that also includes Catholic schools from Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania: 2020 Psych Sheet. This is the first of the Championship style meets in 2020 and in last year’s event, the boys from Georgetown Prep captured second and Gonzaga 6th. On the girls side, Stone Ridge won the event with Good Counsel, O’Connell and St. John’s finishing 4, 5, and 6th respectively.  This weekend we should see a strong showing from defending champion Stone Ridge, with Good Counsel and O’Connell poised to vie for the top spot. Both Georgetown Prep and Gonzaga have an opportunity to unseat last year’s champion Malvern Prep, but will also need to get by the team from Loyola Blakefield.
