Results from the Deck through 1/11/2022

The meet schedules picked up where they left off in 2021, with Montgomery County, and the Northern Virginia schools competing over the weekend 1/7-1/8, PVS hosting meets 1/8-1/9 and the private schools competing through 1/11. We’ve uploaded results to our site for all the meets we could get.

What’s fun with these uploads is you can generate reports to see how fast your friends are swimming in their meets. For example check this link for top times in the 200 Freestyle for girls (Reminder, this isn’t comprehensive, this is generated from the results we have):

Montgomery County:

Montgomery County High School meets 1/8

Montgomery County Schools have 3 more weekends of dual meets before heading to their Divisional Championship meets on Feb 5. We believe the Metros, Region and State Championship meets will happen in succession, but haven’t confirmed dates.

The VHSL schools will compete in Conference Championship meets Jan 28-29, Regional Championships the following weekend Feb 4-5 and States Feb 16-19

Private Schools

Stone Ridge and Gonzaga continued their undefeated seasons, with Gonzaga defeating Georgetown Prep on Saturday 1/8. Both Stone Ridge and Gonzaga defeated St. Stephen and St. Agnes on Tuesday 1/11. Notably, Erin Gemmell of Stone Ridge set a new pool record in the 200 freestyle. Erin swam 1:48.72 eclipsing the prior mark held by Katie Ledecky, Congrats Erin!

Gonzaga v Georgetown Prep:

The Area private schools have several Championship meets upcoming, starting with National Catholics, scheduled for Jan 15-16. The following week, the Independent School League (ISL, Girls only) will have a Championship meet at Stone Ridge on Friday Jan 21. The WCAC (co-ed) has their Championship meet scheduled for 1/29 at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

PVS Meets:
AAC hosted the first Long Course meet of 2022 at the beautiful new facility at Long Bridge in Arlington. PVS held the annual distance meet was hosted by the Fairfax Foxes at the St. James, where swimmers of all ages got to compete in the 1000 and 1650 freestyle events. Lastly, RMSC held their annual Frosty Pentathlon, where swimmers 9 & under got to swim a 5 events, a 25 of each stroke as well as the 100 IM. The next two weekends will be busy again for PVS Clubs with several meets scheduled this weekend and the January Open next weekend!
