After week 4, only Walter Johnson remains undefeated for both their girls and boys teams! This weekend’s matchup with Churchill should be a close meet, will Churchill give Walter Johnson their first loss?

VHSL/Northern Virginia

Many of the schools will have their last dual meet this weekend, then compete in their District meets the weekend of January 29. We’re excited to see the VHSL teams head in into ‘Championship mode’, as there are always big swims posted throughout the District, Region and State meets! Oakton continued their undefeated season for both the Girls and Boys by defeating Chantilly (Full Results), they now sit at 6-0, with a meet against Centreville tonight.  There was a hotly contested meet last weekend,  between the girls of Riverside and Briar Woods, where it was decided by 5 points and a win for Briar Woods.

Kylee grabbed her second win of the meet in the 100 Breaststroke but Briar Woods outscored Riverside 18-11, which proved too much for Riverside to overcome. Area teams excel at National Catholics

Many of the area Catholic high schools travelled to Baltimore last weekend to compete against other schools from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. The meet competed with preliminaries on Saturday and finals Sunday and were livestreamed as there were no spectators allowed. The lack of spectators didn’t dampen the level of competition, as Stone Ridge and Gonzaga fiercely battled for the top spots in the team standings. Ultimately both placed 2nd, with Notre Dame Prep (MD) and Loyola Blakefield (MD) taking the top team spots. Congratulations to all the swimmers and teams that competed
